What is the Canada Express Entry Program

Canada Express Entry Program, an electronic immigration program, was created by the Government of Canada. This program allows anyone from around the globe to apply for Canadian immigration based on their particular skills.

Canada is in dire need of skilled workers in many trades. Therefore, the Express Entry Program was created to help attract qualified individuals. This article will explain what the program is and how you can apply.

What is Canada Express Entry Program?

All of the Express Entry Program requirements can be completed online through the Government of Canada website. The government has created a calculator that allows applicants to upload their information about their skills, education, and work history. Based on the type of traits an applicant has, they will be ranked using various factors to earn points. The profile with the highest points is invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency.

Once approved for permanent residence, the applicant may then move to Canada with all the rights that legal residents have, including the ability to apply for Canadian citizenship if they are eligible.

The Canada Express Entry Program allows skilled workers to come to Canada to work and obtain their citizenship.

What are the types of Canada Immigration Express Entry Programs (CEPs)?

The Express Entry program was created by the Government of Canada to accommodate different skill levels. These programs, also known as economic immigration programs, attract skilled workers who will help to develop and improve Canada's economy. These programs include:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
  • Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).

There are many programs available, depending on the requirements of each applicant. They differ in language proficiency, work experience, and qualified occupation.

Federal Skilled Worker Program

All skilled workers with work experience in another country can apply for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. You must have high-level language proficiency in English and French (Level 7), and an occupation that falls under management, professional or technical jobs. Apprenticeships or college diplomas are required. It also requires at least one year of continuous experience in the occupation for the past 10 years.

Federal Skilled Trades Program

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who have worked in a foreign country. This program requires Level 5 or 4 language proficiency in English and French for any occupation that falls under the technical category. It also requires 2 years of work experience from within the past 5 years. Candidates must also have a Canadian job offer and a certificate proving that they are skilled in their trade.

Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Canadian Experience Class is for skilled workers with work experience in Canada. They must be proficient in English and French at Level 5 or 7, with a job that is managerial, professional, or technical. In the last three years, they must have at least one year of experience working in Canada.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), a program that allows provinces to nominate and select skilled workers who meet their needs, is designed for Canada. If invited to apply, the applicant must live and work within the province that nominated or sponsored them. The areas manage the program and access profiles online only via the Express Entry portal.

What are the requirements for the Canada Express Entry Program

You must meet the eligibility requirements if you are deciding to apply for the Express Entry Program. Each of the three programs has its criteria. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), however, has some additional requirements specific to each province.

You can check the Government of Canada website to determine if you are eligible. Click the button to check your eligibility. It will take you to a brief questionnaire. You will be asked to fill out the questionnaire about yourself.

  • Nationality
  • Age
  • Language skills
  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Family members
  • Information about a Canada job offer

Each answer to these questions will be used for calculating your points on the Calculator. Each Express Entry program requires that you pass a specific threshold to qualify. For example, to be eligible for the Federal Skilled Workers Program you must have at least 67 points.

The website will provide you with a code number after you have completed the questionnaire. After you have created your account, you can use this code number to create your profile.

Express Entry is required for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). However, you will also need to meet additional requirements. Contact the appropriate authorities to determine where you would like to reside in Canada.

The PNP eligibility website contains a list of Canadian provinces as well as links to their contact information. Find out the requirements and determine if you are eligible by contacting your chosen province. To be eligible, the province must nominate your name.

How do I apply for Canada Express Entry Program?

The Express Entry Programs application process differs depending on the program you are applying for. The application process for the three first programs is the same, but the Provincial Nominee Program requires an entirely different approach.

These steps will help you apply for Federal Skilled Workers, Federal Skilled Trades, or Canadian Experience Class Programs.

Get supporting documents

To be eligible to apply for these programs, you will need to provide a list of supporting documents. These documents include:

  • Valid passport or travel document
  • Results of language tests (English and French)
  • Education Credential Assessment Report (for Federal Skilled Workers and Experience Class);
  • If you have one, a letter from your employer offering you a job in Canada
  • You can get police certificates proving that you have a clean criminal history.
  • Medical exam
  • If you are asked to apply, you will need to prove that you have sufficient funds to pay for your stay in Canada.

Submit your profile

Express Entry Program works by selecting from potential applicants' profiles. You will need to complete your profile and prove you are eligible.

You will need to create an account on the Government of Canada website to submit this profile. Enter the code from your eligibility questionnaire. Next, answer all questions on the profile. The second step will require you to fill in details about your education, age, and work experience.

The profile can be worked on for up to 60 days before you have to submit it. You will be denied the opportunity to submit your profile if you do not complete it within 60 days.

Once you have submitted your profile, you must wait to find out if you were selected. The Canadian Government selects the profiles that score the highest and ranks them based on their qualifications each year. It can take up to 6 months for this process. During that time, you can improve your score and update your profile. If you have not had a job offer, you may be able to retake your language tests and get better scores.

Invited to Apply

The Canadian Government will accept applications from those who have the most points. If you meet all the requirements and are eligible, the province where you submitted your profile will invite you to apply to the PNP.

To be eligible for permanent residency, you must accept an invitation when you are asked to apply. If you are selected for a program not your first choice, you can decline the invitation. You can refuse to accept the invitation by completing the profile and waiting for the selection.

Permanent residence: Apply

You will receive the forms required to apply for permanent residence from Canada by the Government of Canada. To be eligible for consideration of your application, you will need to fill out the forms and submit any supporting documents. The fees will vary depending on which program you are applying for.

You have 60 days to submit your application for permanent residence. After that, you can only make significant changes.

After evaluating your application for permanent residence, the Government of Canada will notify you of their decision after approximately 6 months. You will be allowed to permanently move to Canada if they approve your application. If denied, they will let you know and you can apply again.
